Police Department

Message from the Chief:

The Petal Police Department has recently completed a 2100 square foot addition to its building.  The addition added six offices, a storage room, the Code Enforcement office, and a new Planning Commission meeting room.  The majority of the labor was completed by Police officers which saved the city thousands of dollars.  The Chief would like to extend his gratitude for the many hours donated by his Officers in the completion of the building expansion.

The Police Department has added multiple new vehicles to include five Chevrolet Impalas which will be assigned to the Chief of Police, the Assistant Chief, the Lieutenant over the Patrol Division, one to the Warrants Division and one to the Investigations Division.  There will also be three trucks purchased.  Two of which will be assigned  to Investigations and the third will be given to the Animal Warden.  A Chevrolet Tahoe for use in the Investigations Division and a Ford Crown Victoria for the patrol fleet have already arrived.

Each of these upgrades was made with the sole purpose of better serving the citizens of Petal in a positive and professional manner.  We here at the Petal Police Department are proud to be a pro-active department whose goal is to deter and prevent crimes and enhance the quality of life so that the City of Petal will continue to be one south Mississippi's top ten small cities to live.
